About Independent Care & Support Ltd
We help people live safely and independently at home across Medway. Our carers are trained, kind, and reliable — delivering person-centred support that protects dignity, promotes independence, and gives families peace of mind.
Who we are
Founded in 1999, Independent Care & Support Ltd is a domiciliary care agency providing compassionate, high-quality home care. We work in partnership with clients, families, local authorities, and health professionals, tailoring support to each person’s goals, preferences, and routines.
From personal and domestic care to dementia support, reablement, respite, complex and palliative care — our team focuses on what matters most: your safety, comfort, independence, and wellbeing.
Compassion
Care that is kind, respectful, and led by your wishes.
Reliability
We turn up, on time, with clear communication and continuity.
Quality
Skilled carers, robust supervision, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Our commitment to quality & safety
Quality is embedded in everything we do — safer recruitment, shadowing and induction, ongoing training and supervision, unannounced spot checks, care plan reviews, audits, and learning from feedback. We use clear escalation pathways and work closely with GPs, district nurses, and therapy teams to coordinate care.
- Enhanced training: safeguarding, medication, moving & handling, dementia awareness, infection control, end-of-life care, and more.
- Governance: regular audits, supervision, competency sign-offs, and incident/complaints learning.
- Technology: secure digital records and scheduling to help ensure timely, consistent care.
CQC – being transparent
Current rating: Requires Improvement (April 2023). We have submitted a comprehensive action plan and implemented improvements in training, supervision, governance, auditing, and care planning.
Our goal is to restore our previous Good rating and move beyond it. Many clients and families continue to praise our carers for being kind, reliable, and compassionate — we’re proud of this feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
