Our senior staff regularly visit all service users to ensure all aspects of care are being carried out to the highest standards and that all outcomes are being met on a continual basis. Our care workers wear a uniform embroidered with the Independent Care name and also carry identification badges displaying their name and photograph as well as our telephone number.

All care workers are employed by us directly and are subject to a robust employment and vetting procedure as follows:

  • Applicants are required to complete a detailed application form

  • We will invite them for interview and assessment by our management panel

  • Once selected:

  1. We will conduct DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and SOVA (Safeguard of vulnerable adults) checks

  2. References will be obtained from their two latest employers

Once the above requirements have been fulfilled, they will receive and participate in mandatory training, which includes:

  • Induction training

  • General health and safety training

  • Moving and handling of people

  • Medication management

  • QCF (NVQ) courses

Prior to working with service users, all new staff will shadow our experienced staff until we are satisfied they are properly trained.
